Pink City Prints | The Brand that got it Right
19th June 2019 by Emma Fletcher
Pink City Prints is so often mentioned in the Fashion press and worn by Fashion Bloggers that it deserves a closer look. Even those shy of the usual boho trends are turning to wear these beautiful dresses and tops as Pink City Prints are a brand that is forcing a rethink.
It's British founder, Molly Russell, lives and works in Jaipur and is conjuring up this magical chic collection alongside local indigo-dyers and block printers. Happily it is an entirely ethical brand working in a totally sustainable way. Molly oversees the entire process from start to finish and her employees are treated with care and respect and earn more than double the local minimum wage. This is the total opposite to the fast fashion swamping the high streets - the embroidered dresses take three days to make. The block printing can only be done at certain times of year because of the weather so the process can never be rushed or cut short. Every single piece in the collection has been worked on by hand - whether that is the printing, embroidery or handspinning.
This is exactly what we want to see more of in fashion. Small collections that are thoughtfully and lovingly made designed to be worn and treasured. And I think this is one of the reasons Pink City Prints are a brand that have got it just right. The cotton is super light to wear, yet not overly see through, and they are perfect summer dresses. Wear them casually with Birkenstocks or a pair of pumps, or dress them up for a pair of espadrilles and they could take you through most summer occasions.
Take a look at our collection online, but also please remember this is just a small representation of what we have in store. IIf you are interested in learning any more about Pink City Prints or would like to see photographs of the full collection, do pop in or get in touch.
