Brand Focus – Veja Fairtrade

We first stocked Veja trainers earlier this summer and were completely blown away by our customer’s response to them, they literally flew off the shelves and the faster we ordered the faster they sold.  It is not hard to see why Veja have had an overwhelmingly positive response.  Not only do they look effortlessly stylish on, there is also a very positive story behind the brand. 

Veja have a consideration towards environmental impact in every aspect of their production.  They work closely with their factory in Brazil with the aim of using raw materials sourced from organic farms with no chemical usage.  The founders, Sebastien Kopp and DFra MOrillon had both noticed substandard working standard in factories abroad which is where their idea originated from – to create a brand which is also in harmony with their generation of people growing up in the 1990’s when trainers have become such a prominent and continuing footwear choice.

Rather than spending on advertising, marketing and paying fashion bloggers, Veja have focused their resources into production and raw materials.  Happily, the fashion bloggers have really embraced the brand and are wearing them because they love them, not because they are paid or gifted them. 

The name Veja is translated from the Portugeuse as Look, which is meaningful in that it represents the brands honest approach to total transparency in their working methods.

We are stocking the womens V10 leather trainer in white nautico pekin which has the signature navy V in the side and the red bag.  In addition, we have the V10 leather trainer in extra white, which has a subtle same colour white V in the side.  Reports back from customers who have been wearing these over the summer are extremely positive, and we already have people buying second pairs because they love them so much!  Praise Indeed.
